A U.S.-led initiative has begun delivering 1,000 doses of lenacapavir, an HIV-prevention drug, to Zambia and Eswatini, with plans for distribution in 12 other African countries. Notably, South Africa, which has the highest HIV burden, is excluded from this program. The initiative aims to curb HIV transmission in sub-Saharan Africa, where new infections are rising.
