NSPCA secures court order, Daybreak chair flies coop with R625,000 payout

Daybreak Foods’ chairperson Bojane Segooa resigned with a R625,000 payout as courts ordered the company to stop mistreating 594,000 starving birds. NSPCA obtained a court order to halt inhumane practices at Daybreak farms in Bela-Bela and Mookgopong. The company faces criminal charges under the Animals Protection Act. Segooa’s resignation amid a worker strike added to the crisis.
