Retired German satellite ROSAT is descending towards Earth, with potential debris crashing as early as Friday. Communication lost with the satellite, experts uncertain of impact locations. Parts will burn up during re-entry, but up to 30 fragments weighing 1.87 tons could reach Earth between Friday and Monday. Global areas between 53-degrees north and south could be affected.
