Heavy rain batters KZN, killing 3 in landslide amid flooding

Heavy rainfall triggered a landslide in Adams Mission, KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, causing three deaths. Two structures collapsed, resulting in casualties. Cathy Sutherland highlighted inadequate stormwater management in peri-urban areas as a contributing factor. Garrith Jamieson from ALS Paramedics described the scene where a family narrowly escaped as a landslide tore through their home.

Khayelitsha’s most feared resident believed to be among 5 killed in shootout with Eastern Cape cops

Yanga “Bara” Nyalara, a feared resident of Khayelitsha, was among at least five suspects killed in a shootout with police in Gcuwa, Eastern Cape. The incident occurred on the N2 near Ndabakazi village. Witnesses had previously been too scared to testify against Nyalara, who had charges withdrawn. Eastern Cape police are still investigating the scene.
