Former South African ambassador to the US Ebrahim Rasool returned to Cape Town International Airport, greeted by ANC members and trade union representatives. Rasool was expelled from the US after criticism of President Trump’s foreign policy. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called him “persona non grata”. Rasool defended his comments, stating the need to adapt to a changed US diplomatic landscape.
