SA citizenship law is unconstitutional, apex court rules

The South African Constitutional Court has deemed a section of the Citizenship Act unconstitutional, which automatically stripped citizens of their citizenship if they acquired another country’s citizenship. The court ruled in favor of affected individuals, declaring them to have not lost their citizenship since 1995. The Democratic Alliance initiated the legal challenge, ultimately leading to this decision.
