South African billionaire businessman Douw Steyn, known for his global business ventures in insurance, property, and hotels, has died at 72. With an estimated net worth of R70 billion in 2024, he founded Steyn’s Insurance Brokers in 1975 and later pioneered selling motor insurance over the telephone, leading to the launch of Auto&General Insurance in Johannesburg.
