South Africa’s international tourism sector is experiencing strong growth in early 2025, with the World Travel & Tourism Council predicting a milestone year. The sector is expected to support 1.9 million jobs, surpassing 2019 levels. However, international visitor spending is projected to remain below pre-pandemic levels, while domestic spending is forecasted to be resilient at R445 billion.
