Ivory Park suburb in Midrand, Gauteng, had the highest number of reported hijackings in Q1 2025, per SAPS data. Despite a 15.1% decrease in hijackings compared to the same period in 2024, 4,533 cars were stolen in the first three months of 2025. The figure translates to around 50 cars taken daily, raising concerns, especially when considering unreported incidents.
