Tunisian court sentences politicians, businessmen, and lawyers to prison terms ranging from 13 to 66 years in a trial criticized as fabricated under President Kais Saied’s rule. Businessman Kamel Ltaif gets 66 years, opposition politician Khayam Turki 48 years. Prominent opposition figures receive 18-year sentences. 40 people on trial since March, over 20 fled abroad. Saied re-elected in 2024 with 90.7% vote.
